“You never will be walking alone” chants Melbourne-based singer/songwriter Erik Hecht on this huge House original by Dirty South & Those Usual Suspects. With heart-wrenchingly sincere vocal and uplifting progressive house build ups, this is the perfect big room anthem to end the night with.
“Walking Alone” was released today, October 19th on Phazing Records.
By no means did Dillon Francis single handedly populirize moombahtoon, but he was a huge contributor to the genre with remixes of Chris Brown’s Look at Me Now and CSS’s Hits Me Like A Rock among others. However, the American Dj/Producer from Los Angeles has gone back to its electro house roots releasing a much awaited original. His new single I.D.G.A.F.O.S. is full of feel good harmonies laced with a hypnotizing danceble dubstep bass line a la Skrillex, without being so overpowering.
As Mad Decent states, “I.D.G.A.F.O.S.” is the culmination of all of Dillon Francis’ signature productions. The melody lines are brighter, the drops larger, and the baselines heavier. It’s a roller-coaster of a track and one that really shows the growth in Dillon’s production skills.
As P&P mentioned, we are approximately 19,000 minutes away from the release of Phantogram‘s new LP, Nightlife on November 1st. And just to let you cope until the release, here is a quick peek (leak) at Phantogram gone soft and dreamy with their song ‘Nightlife’. Do not forget to also check out “Don’t Move” we blogged a couple days back.
If you follow me on twitter, you know how eager I am to bashing Notorious B.I.G. mashups. I got nothing against Mr B.I.G. but I feel like sampling his vocals has been overdone. Definitely will need to bite my tongue on this one. DJ 21Lazy has single doubtedly created one of the best mashups I have heard in a while. With an incredibly indie feel sampling Skizzy Mars’ “Colours” this feel good track will make you want to wish it was still summer. Enjoy
Fedde Le Grand is one of the most underrated DJs in 2011. His talents have been supported by huge acts like Avicii, Alesso, Dirty South, and the Swedish House Mafia. The Dutch house DJ and producer gained momentum with his single “Put Your Hands Up For Detroit” (UK/US) back in 2006 reaching number one on the UK’s singles. Le Grand has been a non-stop force for the last two years. With the help of Chris Martin’s “perfect for house music” vocals, Fedde Le Grand creates a big room house remix of “Paradise” that quite honestly gives the original some competition.
An emotinal and inspiration video made entirely from Mac/Apple sounds with quotes from Steve Jobs Stanford Commencement Speech in 2005.
It almost seems impossible that one man can be responsible for changing the way we listen to music, consume information and even create, yet Steve Jobs was living proof of this. I remember being a late adapter to the iPod, only having bought my first one 4 years ago. With trying to discover new music, I went on the Internet hoping to fill my ipod with music. It was because of this search for music that I found what at the time felt like an underground world of music blogs. Blogs that did not care about the latest songs on the radio nor had any pressure to post popular songs, they simple blogged what they love and nothing else. It were these music blogs that encouraged me to start my own. Having an iPod changed the way I consumed music, forced me to leave my comfort zone and listen to new sounds I had never heard before. I was completely hooked. Ever since I got into new genres, I became addicted to listening to new music. No longer was I replaying my favorite three albums over and over but I started listening to ten new songs every day. Ten soon become twenty and with so much music going through my ears, The Music Ninja was born. Sure there were other MP3 players that I could have bought, but no other made it as simple and easy to listen to music. We all have been affected by Steve Jobs one way or the other. This song is just completely amazing.
You should always expect the unexpected when bands enter the Radio 1 Live Lounge but I don’t think anyone saw this one coming … following a sold out London gig on Tuesday night The Horrors recorded 2 session tracks for Radio 1; their forthcoming single ‘I can See Through You’ and a cover of Beyonce’s summer smash ‘Best Thing I Never Had’. Branding the R&B queen’s recent hit with their own distinctive sonic stamp, The Horrors have transformed ‘Best Thing I Never Had’ into a brooding, synth fueled swagger that epitomises the London quintet’s knack for challenging both themselves and their listeners.
My indie hip/hop mind just exploded to this mash up by DJ 21AZY. Childish Gambino and Chiddy Bang, two amazing indie acts that have gain an incredible of popularity over the past months are united into one coherent and well mixed mashup. Combining the instrumentation of Chiddy Bang‘s “Mind Your Manners” with Gambino’s “Put It In My Video”, if there is anyone that can replace Chiddy, it is definitely Childish. This track makes me wish they both collaborated in the future.
Major Lazer, the duo consisting of Lilo and StitchDiplo and Switch, is known for pumping a lot of attitude in each and every of their singles and live performances, but now they have completely outdone themselves. With the upcoming single “Original Don”, Major Lazer creates a heavy straight forward four-on-the-floor electro-house banger that almost reminds me of the hardcore trance days. Yet they adhere to the very original style the started with on their first debut album Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do. “Original Do”n will be out on a digital EP November 2 with remixes from the Crookers and the Partysquad.
